Tonight is census night. The lead up to the 2016 census has been steeped in controversy creating a great divide in federal politics.
Taking place every five years, this year’s compulsory census is Australia’s inaugural digital survey. The data collected by the Australian Bureau of Statistics will for the first time will be held for 4 years instead of the previous 18 months. (Miletic & Levy, 2016)
